We use Find My Friends as a backup but there's too much lag. I contacted Garmin support, 'we are aware and are working on a fix, the bug is in the app and not the device.' Thanks, already figured that it was the app.

There's 5 bar reception all the way, plus texts show up on the 520. The next day, on my commute to work, same problem. Since I was pretty far out in the sticks we assumed the lack on cell reception was to blame. While I was participating in a 'gravel grinder' she texted me with a 'cannot connect to server' message on the live track. Everything worked fine until a month or so ago. I'm using an iPhone 6 with the latest iOS. But the Live Track feature was appealing enough to my wife, so she gave me a 520 for Christmas. I have a 705 that works fine for its intended purpose. Finally I can care less about controlling my CycliqPlus camera. I’ve agreed to the new TOC to comply with EU privacy rules. Live track still broken, ride updates, still broken.

Every iOS update seems to push the features on my 520 deeper into the pits of Hell. Live Track Needs Fixed Now! Again with iOS 11.0.1 Would love to see you course correct here. Please, please, please stop driving this app towards banal “mass-market cuteness,” and instead, try giving your devoted fanbase more powerful tools to articulate and shape our fitness goals. Now, when I open the app, all those brilliantly helpful, adjustable, overlaid charts are gone-they have literally been replaced by a colored icon that says, “Productive.” That icon changes in response to training each day, but I can no longer view the data that underlies it on the fly, rendering this potentially valuable source of insight meaningless within the app.ĭev team: you’ve had two years here. As an example, I’ve been religiously using “training status” every day for two years to monitor the relationship between my 7-day training load and my target load (based on integrated firstbeat tables), making training adjustments on the fly. The prevailing style seems to prioritize oversimplified infographics over actually allowing users to review and interact with their data.

HOWEVER: the Garmin Connect app seems to be getting more disappointing to use as a training tool with each revision. I take some ribbing from Suunto (climbing) and Apple Watch (running) friends, but I’ve been 100% pleased with the decision: the 935 is a great piece of tech, and I’m sure the 945 is as well. I’ve been a Garmin fan since buying my Forerunner 935 on initial release two years ago. This version includes bug fixes to improve device functionality, as well as features to support new Garmin devices.ħ.2K Ratings Rebuild Training Status Functionality ASAP!
